President Joe Biden announced his intent to sign an executive order addressing protections for women’s health data and the potential for law enforcement exploitation, in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade. 

White House Developing National Strategy to Increase Data Collection as Privacy Tech Improves 

The U.S. government wants to collect, analyze and share more of Americans’ data, especially as new technologies and procedures offer the potential to do so without compromising citizens’ privacy, and is developing a national strategy to align policies and regulations with that goal.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is continuing its fast evolution as a standalone department, with CISA set to get its own procurement authority this month.  

ACT-IAC Names Three New Acquisition Program Leaders 

ACT-IAC has named three new leaders for its technology acquisition program. DHS Digital Transformation Lead Scott Simpson has taken up the role of government chair, and Sandy Barsky from Oracle becomes industry vice chair. ACT-IAC has also installed Terrell Russell from JPI Dev as programs chair. 

GSA Looks to Help Get LGBTQI-Owned Small Businesses in The Contracting Mix 

The agency is going to work with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce as part of an effort to increase access to contracting for LGBTQI-owned small businesses. 

GSA Puts Polaris Contract Back in Motion 

The General Services Administration has restarted the process for its Polaris governmentwide IT solutions contract vehicle and reopened the portal for submitting proposals.
