Makpar Innovation Lab Embodies World Creativity and Innovation Day 2022

The United Nations has designated April 21st as World Creativity and Innovation Day, which aims to raise awareness around the role of the creative economy in advancing all aspects of economic development.

While Makpar is considered a small business in the government IT arena, the company is grounded in providing big ideas for helping agencies to meet and exceed their mission goals. In other words, the company has a passion for bringing the right technology to the right agency for the right solution.

Nothing embodies this vision more than the Makpar Innovation Lab. Launched in May 2021, the Makpar Innovation Lab aims to help advance mission success for the government through the most cutting-edge innovations.

By testing and developing the latest emerging technologies, the Makpar Innovation Lab introduces new products and services to its government customers – to improve solutions while deepening data analytics, and add meaningful context and power to data-driven decisions.

Since its launch nearly 12 months ago, the Makpar Innovation Lab is already making waves in the government arena. Earlier this year, we announced that the Innovation Lab won a highly competitive government agency code challenge.

During the code challenge, the Innovation Lab team leveraged its Pragmatic Agile processes, and underwent rigorous preparation for having a laser-focused execution. As a result, the team completely outshined competitors from much larger companies.

“The Makpar Innovation Lab team was able to stay calm under the pressure to deliver a flawless execution in this government agency code challenge. How we responded to this challenge is a prime example of how we can rapidly and effectively deliver the right software solution to government,” said Tariq Islam, Makpar’s Director of Technology and Solutions.

In addition, Makpar Innovation Lab has developed solutions to mitigate fraud for federal agencies. For example, it developed a Fraud Detection Analytics Dashboard proof of concept to prevent another “short squeeze” that was applied to hedge funds by retail investors impacting GameStop’s stock price last year. When it comes to DevOps in the government sector, the Makpar Innovation Lab is also pioneering the use of a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. The Innovation Lab uses a scalable and flexible architecture in a server-less and cost-effective environment, when it comes to CI/CD pipeline development – allowing this flexible app development capability to be leveraged by any federal agency.

As the UN honors World Creativity and Innovation Day, it's ideal to shine a light on the creative IT solutions that truly modernize government as we know it. Creativity and tenacity, combined with a strong sense of teamwork, is the foundation for success for the Makpar Innovation Lab – and this newfound legacy will continue on for years to come.
