National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2020

This month, October, is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCAM). This was launched in October 2004 by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as an effort to help spread awareness to Americans about the importance of taking measures to stay safe and secure online.

Makpar has been on the cutting-edge of cybersecurity since 2008, finding innovative solutions for the Federal Government, doing what it takes to keep American data safe from cyber attacks. The theme for 2020 NCAM month is Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart. This important message urges us to all do our parts by implementing cybersecurity best practices, spreading awareness, educating vulnerable audiences or training employees. If we all cover our bases, our online world will become safer and more resilient.

So, this month on our blog, we want to do our part by helping American citizens without technical backgrounds understand cybersecurity basics. We believe a deep understanding of the threats we face will inspire meaningful action for all cyber-citizens. We’ll focus on the building blocks of our work and what you can do to make sure you’re staying updated about the latest cyber threats.

Follow along and let us know if you have anything you’d like us to cover on our blog. Stay safe out there!
