Makpar Fosters a Culture of Uplifting Communities

Recent Volunteer Day Created 20-Plus Birthday Packages for Foster Children

“Foster care organizations run off of grants and donations and are rarely given federal funding. Most of their money is stretched thin providing resources to foster families for birthday gifts for the kids. Depending on the child’s background, there are a number of reasons this matters to them. If they have been neglected, this may be the only gift they ever receive, and the only evidence that their lives matter.”

This powerful statement was drafted by Tim Lindow, IT Manager at Makpar, and was read aloud at the start of Makpar’s recent Volunteer Day. As a foster parent himself, Tim is passionate about bettering the lives of foster children, and he served as the inspiration for this year’s Volunteer Day.

This is why Makpar partnered with Foster Live – Together We Rise to create 20-plus birthday care packages for local foster children in the DMV area. More than 30 volunteers, including Makpar employees and family members, worked together to package these birthday care packages with love.

Here are some photos from that special day:

The 2023 Volunteer Day reinforces the Makpar’s vision of Uplifting Communities. In addition, Septembers is Global Company Culture Month, and we will be showcasing how Makpar provides abundant support and opportunities to help our employees grow and reach their fullest potential throughout the month.
