Makpar Celebrates Professional Wellness Month 

Once again summer is upon us and with that comes June’s Professional Wellness Month. Dedicated to recognizing and celebrating workplace mental, emotional and physical health, this special month is highly noteworthy and needed in 2023. 

According to a recent study, three in five employees say their mental health has declined as a result of workplace stress – and more than half feel employers aren’t doing enough to help. In addition, workplace burnout is being called the most significant occupational hazard today, generating a significant cost to individuals and companies alike. 

This recent Fortune article also points to how an employer’s culture and the way its jobs are designed are the main reasons for workplace burnout.  

As a result, there’s a new workplace trend called “proactive rest,” which is based on HR policies that encourage employees to use all their vacation time and take advantage of flexible and reasonable schedules. A Gartner survey found that when organizations offer proactive rest, they see a 26 percent increase in employee performance.
