Employee Spotlight: Anjali Astavans, Quality Manager & Project Coordinator

Background:

Before joining Makpar, I started my career as the Quality Assurance and Manual Tester with Custom Border Protection. Within a year, I became the automation tester supporting 5 projects. Then I joined Federal Aviation (FAA) as a Data Analyst, and later became a Business, Quality, and Reporting Analyst.

Joining Makpar:

My husband told me about Makpar. He worked with Mushtaq (co-founder) as a Makpar employee before becoming a Federal employee at the IRS. Mushtaq asked him if he knew anyone who could be a good Quality/Data Analyst and I came up. I saw how comfortable my husband was working with Makpar and I was immediately interested. Then I talked to Farah (HR Director) and that sealed the deal. She's such a sweetheart. I joined in February 2019.

How have you grown while at Makpar?:

At Makpar, I work on both the client and corporate side. Within 3 months of starting here, I got 2 certifications for CMMI. Then I talked to Farah and I said I'd like to do my masters. Everyone at the company supported me. It's been really great. I'm maintaining my A grades now! Most recently, I took on an internal auditor certificate, which has been great. Now I'm a certified auditor for ISO 27000K.

On the client side, I started in the PMO role, working as a Scheduler/Quality Analyst. Now I'm in a Project Manager role supporting the contractors. I work with IRS management to ensure that contractors are able to access the project in the ways they need and deliver.

What's your favorite thing about working at Makpar?:

When I joined Makpar, Farah and Mushtaq told me this is a family company. I really felt that when I joined. Everyone at the company is very caring, supportive, flexible, and loving also. They gave me a lot of flexibility after I went through a bad accident. Everyone called to check on me. The personal touch was amazing. I love the way Makpar treats employees.

Advice to new Makpar employees?:

Do your best. I provided my best and I got the best out of it. Do your best and Makpar will give you whatever you need. You can fully express your knowledge and skills here and management really listens to that and tries to implement. This is the right place for the right people with the right skills.

We are so proud to have you in our Makpar family, Anjali. Thanks for all you do!
